Energy saving tips
With these easy-to-implement measures, you can reduce your heat consumption and save money.
Lower the temperature!
For every degree of room temperature you lower, you save 6% of heating energy.
Room | Guide values for temperatures in °C |
Living room | 20°C |
Kitchen | 18 °C |
Bedroom | 17-18 °C |
Bathroom | 22-23 °C |
Do not heat unused rooms. Keep the temperature as low as possible and close the doors of unheated rooms.
Keep radiators clear of furniture so that the air can warm up and the room can be heated; only then can the thermostat measure the temperature in the room correctly and regulate the heating.
Bleed all radiators regularly so that the heat can circulate freely.
Ventilate properly!
You can achieve a rapid exchange of air without much heat loss by ventilating in bursts 3 to 5 times a day for a few minutes with the windows wide open. This is much more efficient than tilt ventilation and saves 15% energy.
At night, it is also advisable to close the shutters to avoid additional heat loss.
Take a shower instead of a bath!
Taking a shower not only saves energy, but also water.
It is also advisable to turn off the water while soaping up. Taking a shower can save up to 30% of water. The same applies to brushing your teeth and washing your hands.
